The Irrational House

From its very conception as an art book, this book-catalog lives up to the adjective “irrational”. It also does so through its representative sample of the work of Pedro Friedeberg whose conception of interior design in particular and art in general resulted in a series of non-functional furniture pieces, meant only to adorn and variegate. Friedeberg is perhaps the last representative of Mexican surrealism. Through his vast knowledge in architecture and his opposition against functionalism, he established anti-architecture as one of his main lines of work.
